Eligibility for ICFRE:
- Forestry research/academic professionals with doctorate and 15 years of experience in relevant field OR Masters with 15 years of services in Indian Forest Service out of which a minimum of 5 years experience in forestry research/ academics.
- Publications in reputed national & international journals.
- Experience in successful national/ international level project formulation/ management/ implementation/ monitoring.
- Experience of working with Govt. of India organization and networking with Government/Non Government national and international organizations.
- National/International recognition in relevant field.
- Member/fellow of various national & international academic councils/bodies
- Experience in modern scientific techniques including GIS & IT based solutions.
- The person appointed to the chair should be Indian national.
- The person applying for the position of chair shall not be more than 65 years as on 1 st June, 2020.
Salary Details of ICFRE:
The remuneration to be paid to the Chair shall be in the form of Chair fellowship. The amount of the fellowship shall be a consolidated amount to the maximum of Rs.80,000/- per month. Taxes etc. shall be deducted as per prevalent rules of the Government of India. The fellowship shall be paid by the respective institute. Subject to availability, accommodation may be provided to the Chair in the scientists Hostel, FRI, Dehradun on usual payment of fees. The chair shall be allowed traveling expenses as per ICFRE Rules. The chair shall be provided an office space and secretarial assistance by the institute. The progress/performance of the work assigned to the Chair shall be reviewed by a committee constituted in this respect.
General Instructions for Candidates:
- A memorandum of agreement shall be signed for the Chair of “Forest Genetics Resource Management Network” between FRI, Dehradun and the person appointed to the chair.
- The duration of the chair fellowship shall be up to the period of 12 month extendable by a maximum period of up to 12 months by DG, ICFRE.
- The chair may leave the position giving two month advance notice.
- The duration of the chair maybe curtailed by the Director General, ICFRE if the performance of the Chair is not satisfactory.
- Head Quarter of the chair shall be at FRI, Dehradun.
- All the materials, modules, course curricula etc. developed by the chair shall be the property of the FRI/ICFRE.
- To coordinate, integrate and formulate the FGR conservation and management strategies of the country.
- To assist in the establishment of the world class centre of Forest Genetic Resources in ICFRE.
- To improve the linkages with national and international organizations on FGR conservation
- Capacity building in the field of management and conservation of FGR.
- Technical support to improve the quality of research in Forest Genetics Resource Management.
- To compile the work done by ICFRE and other organizations on selected species on FGR conservation and management.
- To prepare an action plan for establishment of Centre of Forest Genetic Resources
- To coordinate with other organizations, both national and international for conservation and utilization of Forest Genetic Resources.
- Assist in the National Program for conservation and development of Forest Genetic Resources.
- To assist in identification of research needs and formulation of research products on the subject.
- Develop training material and organize trainings/workshops for capacity building of ICFRE personnel on the subject.
- Provide specific academic inputs to FRI Deemed University students on the subject matter.
- In addition to the above listed tasks, the Chair may also be assigned any other tasks related to the subject matter of the Chair.
