World Students’ Day is celebrated on October 15. World Students’ Day is celebrated every year on October 15 to mark the birth anniversary of Former President of India A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, who is also known as Missile Man of India. He served as the 11th President of India from 2002 to 2007.

  • The theme of World Students’ Day 2020 is ‘Learning for people, planet, prosperity, and peace’.
  • The United Nations declared October 15 as World Students’ Day in 2010. 2020 marks 89th birth anniversary of the former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.

Awards won by Kalam:

Dr. Kalam was the author of three books and recipient of several awards including Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Bharat Ratna, Veer Savarkar Award, Ramanujan Award.
