- Iran, as well as many other countries around the world, celebrates National Tree Planting Day. This observance annually falls on March 5.
- Iran is a semi-desert country and the rapid process of urbanization leads to forest reducing.
- Trees play an important role in improvement of air in big cities and also decorate their streets.
- Annually the top officials of Iran try to draw public attention to the importance of trees for the environment of Iran, that is why National Tree Planting Day is celebrated.
- This day opens the Week of Natural Resources in Iran.
- During this week children learn more about the value of the natural resources and their protection.
