Commissioner Announced: In Andhra Pradesh, due to the prevailing severe heat waves the education department has planned to continue the half-day school functioning system till June 24 (Saturday). This was announced by the Education Department Commissioner Mr. S. Suresh Kumar on Sunday.

According to his order, the state board schools of all managements will be functioned from 7.30 AM to 11.30 AM. The ragi porridge will be served from 8.30 AM to 9.00 AM and the mid-day meal will be served from 11.30 AM to 12.00 PM. The state already functioned their schools for half-day for the past weeks due to the scorching sun across the state.
The blistering sun has made a drastic change in the curriculum of this academic year. Some states are postponing their reopening dates due to the heat wave issue. Still, some parents are in fear to send their kids to schools and in some states, the attendance count has been reduced by 50%.
