Will NEET PG 2024 Replace By the NExT Exam?? NMC Is Likely To Issue Guidelines: In India, the Health Ministry on Thursday says that from 2024 the National Exit Test (NExT) will be conducted and the National Medical Council (NMC) is likely to prepare the guidelines and submit it to the apex body by this month. This exam will be in the form of both screenings as well as qualifying tests.
The NExT exam will replace the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Post Graduate (NEET-PG) 2024, Foreign Medical Graduation Exam (FMGE), and final year MBBS exam. This exam will be a qualifying exam for foreign medical graduates to practice medicine in India inclusive of seven clinical tests and will be the final qualifying and screening exam for final-year students.
According to the report, the guideline for the NExT exam is in the final stage and soon it will be submitted to the NMC, it is also expected that the tentative date of the exam will also be announced. According to the NMC Act 2019, the NExT exam was scheduled to begin after 3 years of implementation of NMC and it came into effect in 2020 also previously government decided to pull back its enforcement until September 2024.
